Bhagavad Gita

Terms of Use

Bhagavad Gita app and website by Novoverse · Effective 8 October 2026

These terms apply to the Bhagavad Gita app for Android and iOS (“the app”) and the Bhagavad Gita website at gita.novoverse.app (“the website”), both made by Novoverse (“we”, “us”). By using the app or the website you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use them.

What we offer

The app and the website let you read the Bhagavad Gita: the Sanskrit verses, their transliteration, Annie Besant’s English translation, and Lokmanya Tilak’s Hindi translation and notes. They are free to use, need no account, and are paid for by ads. We may change, add or remove features, or stop offering the app or the website, at any time.

The texts

The Sanskrit text and the translations we publish are in the public domain: Annie Besant’s English translation (1922) and Tilak’s Gita Rahasya in Madhavrao Sapre’s Hindi translation (1933). You are free to use these texts as you like. We reproduce them as published and always name their authors.

The rest of the app and the website, including the design, layout, logo, software and the curated verse lists, belongs to Novoverse. Fonts are used under their own open licenses.

Sharing verses

You’re welcome to share verses, links and the verse images that the share button creates, for personal and non-commercial purposes, as long as you keep the translator’s name and the site’s name shown on them.

Acceptable use

Please don’t:

Ads and other services

The app and the website show ads from Google, and link to sites run by others. We don’t control those ads or sites and aren’t responsible for their content, products or practices; your use of them is governed by their own terms. How data is handled for ads and statistics is explained in our Privacy Policy.

“Remove ads” purchase (app only)

The app’s optional one-time “Remove ads” purchase is sold through Google Play (or the App Store on iOS) and is subject to that store’s terms, including its refund rules. It removes ads from the app on devices signed in to the same store account; it doesn’t apply to the website.

Not professional advice

The Bhagavad Gita is a sacred and philosophical text, offered here for reading and reflection. Nothing in the app or the website is medical, psychological, legal or financial advice. The verse lists grouped by feeling are a starting point for reading, not a substitute for help from a qualified professional.

No warranty

We take care to reproduce the texts faithfully and to keep the app and the website working, but they are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We don’t promise that they will always be available, free of errors, or suited to a particular purpose. If you find a mistake in a verse, please tell us.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, Novoverse is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of, or inability to use, the app or the website. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have that cannot be limited by law.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Using the app or the website after that means you accept the updated terms.
